Staff Conduct Policy
It is the policy of MISTI-Con that staff maintain an environment that encourages mutual respect, promotes civil and congenial relationships and is free from all forms of harassment, and absent of intimidation, oppression and exploitation. Staff are expected to conduct and perform job duties diligently and promptly, and to treat others with impartiality and equity. Staff are to create and maintain positive relationships, and consider the consequences of their decisions and actions on those affected by them.
MISTI-Con promotes creativity, and staff are encouraged to share ideas and thoughts in a professional manner. Staff are to be supportive of each other, and it is not permissible to ridicule another's ideas or work product.
Staff are prohibited from harming or threatening to harm other staff, conference attendees, vendors, visitors or property belonging to any of these parties. This prohibition includes but is not limited to acts such as:
• Physically harming others or verbally abusing others.
• Any and all forms of harassment, including sexual harassment.
• Using intimidation tactics and making threats.
• Sabotaging another's work.
• Stalking others.
• Making malicious, false and harmful statements about others.
• Publicly disclosing another's private information.
Staff are responsible for assuring the confidentiality of MISTI-Con work products, and may not share said information with outside parties without the express consent of MISTI-Con organizers.
All staff, regardless of their positions, are covered by and are expected to comply with this policy and to take appropriate measures to ensure that prohibited conduct does not occur.If staff feel they have received unfair treatment, they are to contact MISTI-Con organizers, and the matter will be treated seriously, and handled as swiftly as possible.
